But I have been told that there are enough paints done for the Bushhawk - for now ;D Phew! 25 textures and somewhere in the later end, the developer built a completely new wing, which threw all the previous wing paints out of alignment. Mind you, it has been an experience and I have learned/devised/discovered plenty of new tricks - like making multiple different bumpmaps of the same texture and managing to get them together. Dents and ripples in the metal skin need different levels of bumps to rivets. Sometimes you want a deep indent to be much more emphasized than the skin. So finished bumpmaps can still be modified... Plain unbumped skin (just rivets bumped) Tecture with rippled skin

Been following your work on this over at the Aerosoft forums, Chris. Looks great! I love the zebra skin version. Of course, a tropical-themed Bushhawk with a French registry would sure be fun to splash around Tahiti in! ;D
The dents and bumps will no doubt be the icing on the cake. Can't wait to fly this one!

Excellent paints Chris. I have been trying to improve my painting skills lately, experimenting specular lighting and bump maps. So far I haven't been able to produce anything as nice as what you but I keep trying.

Beautiful paints I would participate more in the painting forum, I was on a roll with 3 paints uploaded to avsim and 5 more in the works, but am taking a break. I ended up getting "hate" mail on my Varig caravelle repaint, very discouraging. Ah well, I do have thin skin...

"Hate mail"? Oh dear!
Well even if it is unfounded critique, write the sender a nice thank you for pointing out the errors and promise you will learn from them.
And if it is founded - spend some time in airliners net and fix it.
I too have thin skin. But one lesson learnt (even if I never liked it) was that the more you hear a negative comment to your efforts, the more positives you will hear as well. It's all in the numbers, so get used to the nos and be pleased with all the more yesses.
In other words: don't give up.
PS - can I help?

In other words: don't give up. PS - can I help? It did have one well founded critique (amongst all the personal insults), which was the text. I had a hard time getting the right text and Varig definitely has unique writing. I think I have found the right solution, but that lack of freetime has been kicking in lately. Once mid-terms are through I should be able to fix it. Thanks for the offer of help, I think I should be able to get it right this time. One lesson learned: don't upload until it's reasonably perfect. ;D
