Does anybody know what the best version of FSX would be to run Bill Lyon's Goose? I've just built a new system and I'm getting ready to make the jump from FS9 to FSX. I have an extensive collection of Goose repaints that I've made over the years and I'm not ready to leave them behind. I've read about conflicts SP2 introduced with 3rd party aircraft, should I just stick with SP1 or will Bill's Goose work okay with SP2? And is there anyway to revert back to SP1 if my retail copy of FSX already has SP2 built in? Thanks for any advice or recommendations

The short answer is that the Goose does not work in FSX (any version). Some people have tinkered but nobody has really succeeded. The reason: Bill worked outside the SDK to accomplish things that "couldn't be done." Only aircraft made strictly by the FS9 SDK will work correctly in FSX and even then there are problems with SP2.
My recommendation - Keep a copy of FS9 or GW3 for your favorite FS9 planes and just use FSX planes in FSX.

I've got it working right now, just finished doing a re-paint for a fellow In Kodiak Alaska, I had to remove most of the "extra" stuff, and put in the FSX 2d panel just in case, but I got most of the VC gauges replaced and working, new props, and it works just fine. Was acctually looking on here for Lyon so I could ask if I could re-post it some where, or see if he has a FSX update, but oh well.

Bill has given permission to upload versions of his planes that have been made compatible with FSX (EXCEPT the Graf). Be sure to give Lynn & Bill credit for the original work, and detail & support your changes. Bill has retired and won't be available for any support at all.

With GW3 one of my favorite places to fly was in the Goose somewhere in the South Pacific. There is an add-on for the Goose called Tales of the Gold Monkey. This add-on was centered around an old TV show. I loved this island with the dock, birds, dolphin and other scenery detail. I've only been flying FSX a couple weeks now and I discovered the FSX equivalent to the Tales of the Gold Monkey for GW3. It's with Orbx AUBlue Free fullterrain.com/freeware.html/ and Oz v2 www.aussiex.org/index/news.php. Find an island off Tasmania called Deal Island. Wow a hidden jewel. Gene
