This is written for you smart guys/gals as I've been wondering about this for some time now.
Sometime back a gent took Milton's Spartan and modified/changed the air file etc. to get it to work in FSX.
I've also seen over the many years that folks have "Tweaked" or played with air files etc., which has always interested me..... but I never tried.
Currently, I've been pre-occupied in Flight Sim with the helicopters and actually have been quite pleased with myself as I've finally gotten the hang of those darn contraptions and it's actually quite enjoyable.
Last evening I came across a wonderful little Bell 47 (The old Bubble Bell) and it brought back memories of the T.V. series "Whirly Birds."
This is a beautifully done aircraft but I'll be danged if I can land the bloody thing. Taking off is...... Hit the throttle and hang on baby..... it's like riddin a bucking bronco until you can get control of the darn thing. (...... Hope you can visualize me at the joystick on that....... it's actually quite commical...... Smile)
What I'd love to be able to do is modify the air file etc., to make it behave more like the R-22..... as they are very close to the same numbers as far as flight perimeters go..... I found out that just copying and pasting into the folder doesn't work. (Yeah.... I thought it was a long shot but what the heck.)
If others have done it...... there must be a way of changing/modifying it. If anyone knows of a forum or somewhere to point and kick me into the right direction...... Many Thanks!!
BTW.... I am aware the modified version (IF I can figure it out) could not be uploaded etc.,..... I'm just wanting to change this for my own use. I'm getting tired of coming in for a landing and jumping from the darn thing about 10 feet off the deck to avoid the wreckage. (smile)
Edit: BTW..... I'm wanting to do this for FS9....NOT FSX.... I only used Milton's Spartan as an example. (Sorry.... on re-reading, I wasn't very clear.)
Cheers!
