Thanks for the response Chris.... Congratulations on the new job. Hamburg..... a place I've always wanted to visit... along with many more.
I thought you used Corel... great program (I have Corel Painter IX) however, I must admit I primarily use it for text. Greatest program I've seen for manipulating text!!
I have found some work arounds since first starting this thread... however, working with 4096 textures is something to get use to. A2A Simulations P-47 has one of... if not THEY best paint-kit I've found to date.... but yes.... just the two textures. (main & spec.) is over 32mb BEFORE you add any layers. The detail is amazing.... and it is nice to have everything on one sheet but even running this 64 bit processor with 4 meg of ram slows things down a tad.
I have tried the remove-white tool.... but honestly haven't found a niche for it as yet...... maybe someday.
Thanks again.... I'll keep plugging away. I hope to have a few screen shots in the next week or so of my first "finished" product.... however, because of the size I seriously doubt they'll ever go anywhere other than my archive. (smile)
Many Thanks again.
Cheers,

I've never really been away, but I know what you mean...
I move house and home next week - I have a new job at last - so I am still in a highly volatile life situation and I also need to wait for the new internet connection at the new house. Could be an interesting couple of wee´ks ahead.
