Hey, A while back I downloaded cub4free.zip off Flightsim.com, installed it, flew around a bit, and though I loved the aircraft/scenery package, I (being one who can never not modify something. ) thought I would like to try a little bit more rudder, mabe check ROC,GPH,etc. with a custom panel, went to FsEdit, but when I pulled the aircraft up and made a copy, the numbers were all wrong! Like, for instance, the rudder was 33.3 square feet! But I tried it anyway, made the panel, left the FDE alone, tried the A/C, but it was all wrong! NO rudder, and the stall was 25-27 MPH! So I deleted it, went back to the original, but it was the same! (the starter won't work, ethier.) I deleted the A/C, re-installed, with the same result! I did this several times, re-downloaded the file, still nothing, then today I got the Cub from the download section at TheOldHangar.com, with the SAME RESULT! Diffrent Aircraft.crg, and the other aircraft on the .cfg file wont show, ethier! And FsEdit has started crashing, too! (re-installed it, too.) The Clipwing was not effected, and it is very fun, 75MPH, pull up, full right rudder & aileron, and a (near. ) perfect snap roll! I hope I can get my other Cubs back to normall. Thanks in advance, Chaz

You are correct, the numbers do not make sense. The Cub was designed for FS2002 and when FS2004 came out, it would not fly correctly. Rather than rebuild it completely, Bill adjusted the numbers to get it to fly fairly well in FS2004, but as I found out repeatedly, tinkering with those numbers is an exercise in frustration.
If you go to the download page from www.theoldhangar.net you will find a better FS9 model, though the numbers still do not make sense and tinkering will lead to frustration.
Thanks, but, I already downloaded the Cub from www.theoldhangar.net , but my problem is that the aircraft has some kind of "memory" to it that won't go away, even though since I modded the airfile I have: Re-installed FS9, deleted and re-installed the aircraft, downloaded the theoldhangar.net Cub, and COMPLETELY deleted the A/C from every place on my computer, then re-installed the theoldhangar.net Cub. It makes it so that I can not install the new Cub. :-( know it has not changed since I made a test panel in FSEdit. ( I also installed Bill's wonderful Goose and FS Aviator Airfile, which I have really loved, since most of my flying is in Holger Sandmann and team's wonderful Glacier Bay V2 scenery, and decided to install Nick's prop dust V2, and used his updated contact points. I thought, like a fool, that since the Goose didn't have some of the same problems that the Cub did, that I could always go back. WRONG! Since the gauge for the dust caused the visible ice de-ice switch to not work, and I did not like the new points, I tried to un-install the dust. Same result :-( I have Vista. Thanks again, Chaz
Hey, I figured it out!!! All I did was rename the aircraft's file folder, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Cub1, for example, to Bill's J-3C Cub, and it's back to normal! ;D It worked on the Goose, to! ( why it worked is a mystery to me. ) Thanks for your help, Chaz
