How do you go about updateing FS aircraft. Like from FS2000 to FSX? Thanks BW

The migration of plane models between sims versions depends on different factors of the model itself ( like the program they were built with, and so on). Each plane is a case of its own. It's easier to migrate from FS2000 to FS2002; from Fs2002 to FS2004; but not that easy from all those to FSX.

One thing to bear in mind is that builders of aircraft for earlier versions of FS had alot fewer polygons to play with than FSx modelers do today. A FS2002 aircraft will look pretty primitive next to nearly all FSx aircraft available today.
The flight dynamics files (aircraft.cfg, .air) have also changed quite a bit from FS2002 to FSx. So, what flew good in FS2000 may not fly at all, or badly in FSx. There are no tools avialable to fix this; best you can do is take the files from a similiar FSx plane, and hack it up for your converted FS2000 plane.
Finally, the texture files have changed as well. I think the short answer is that will take a lot of work to do so, and you would probably be disappointed with the results once you were through.
