I think (couldn't swear though) that there is something along those lines on the Aerosoft downloads pages. Might not be a Yellowknife cab though

Sure is one in the package. I just bought it and to my surprise is the #802 my current IRL ride. Now that is a totle surprise to me. I showed some of our crew the Areosoft Twotter and they were just surprised. Two of the ground crew members also bought the package. A very nice surprise for us of the 440th up here in Yellowknife and for me as I serve as 802's ER FO/Chief Medic.

Hi Chris I got a challenge for you from us in the Great White North. One of our Flt Sargents gave me this art work he found on the net and was wondering if you might have a crack at her for the FSX Beaver Aerosoft? Sq crest although would have to be our 440Sq Vampire. Otherwise we have a nice EC-120 up here used an owned by Great Slave Lake Helicopters?

Not exactly a challenge (thank the lord) - at least thepainted bits avoid the split lines between textures. Round window... that's a five seater then? If you can send me a decent sized crest, I'll even do a UHD set of skins so that you can actually read the motto...
Send the EC120 as well - I am just in the swing right now...

Here is our Crest I'll see if I can get a pic of the EC-120. Although there EC-120 doesnt look like a EC-120. I'lll get a pic and maybe you can help me ID its type. Ramp workers here call it a EC-120.

Got that. OK, what's the closest interior - Aerosoft gives us a choice of eight or so...

First roughs... Now... what I need to know is: 1. Is this fictional? 2. What roundels and markings go where on the wing uppers and unders? 3. Anything missing or wrong? Apart from the alignments of course. I need to adjust various positions because the Aerosoft wireframe is somewhat odd...

For the Yellow FIP CAF paint it would be fictional on a DHC3. The RCAF used the DHC2 IRL. We have a reserve that bought there own Beaver and its scheduled to enter our paint shop in June and receive the Yellow FIP scheme and then back to its base at Paulatuk. The makings and roundels follow/based on the CC-138 scheme. Only thing i can see missing is the vampire Bat logo that goes on the tail just above the flag. I dont have the logo but its the bat in the center of our Sq crest in black color. Only time we use the Red bat on the tail is if we are in a War zone. Thinking about that the Areosoft Twotter CAF is goofy painted, no bat on tail and no black nose, weird.

You've lost me on everything there...
The Aerosoft Beaver is a DHC2.
FIP?
CC138?
What about roundels and other markings on wings - the profile only shows 776 under the port wing. Are there roundels or letters on the other three surfaces?
I'll have some more pics within the hour

Looks excellent Chris, Even got the right bat on the tail for the current scheme. FIP is what we refer to as the current paint on our 4 Twotters and 1 Reserve Beaver being outfitted this June.

As the main paint isn'T such a challenge, I am going to re-do the complete set of textures for the AS Beaver. From scratch including bumps, specs and all that... The main caveat now is that I am re-doing ALL the rivetlines and bumpmaps as well. There are a few "funnies" with the base model - if you look close, you'll see them. This screenie is the first at full UHD level (i.e. 4096 textures) I can tell you that in flight the model looks really nice, I am getting gentle ripples in the side panels and not those klutzy blocks. And at 4096, the detail is good, as you can see by this shot: Now if you had a better photo of the squadron badge... Things wrong with the base model that I am addressing: ...mostly it's with the rivets and where they are. Then there's the direction of lighting on the bumps - when you have aircraft bits rotated on the same sheet, you really do need to create several bumpmaps for each sheet and do a lot of cutting and pasting. There is also an annoying misalignment of several parts of the model, and there's the odd angle of the 3D mdl's split of the nose cowlings (angled, rather than horizontal) Some things I can fix with the paints, other things I'll have to fudge over. This could turn out to be a bit of an opus magnus in a way. if you get fed up of waiting I can send you these raw dds sheets to play with while you wait.
