OK. I'd like to avoid appearing to be any stupider than I really am, but I think I've done it. I added Reute, Austria, and Fussen, Germany, to my GW3 setup [because I've been to both, I like them, and I wanted to use them enroute from Munich (etc) to Innsbruck].
once installed, I got lots of white at both locales. I have every EZ-scenery, tree, RW12, etc., etc., library in the world installed (so I thought). Well, I began moving blocks of scenery and texture files from FS9 to GW3 - I thought I was being judicious and only messing with ADD ON SCENERY.
Unfortunately, though the texture problem for Fussen and Reute have been fixed, I now have FS9 taxiways - mostly in black - everywhere. I must have lost track when I was moving entire directories and gotten the main scenery and texture directories mixed up and copied them by mistake.
I've tried the easy things like moving any AF2 files out - but that has no efect. I tried removing selected files in the main scenery directory to "hold" files - but that hasn't worked either.
Short of a complete reinstall (and I'll install to it temp directory and try to compare scenery and texture files between the new temp dir and my installed in-use GW3 dirs before I - shucks, shucks, shucks - do a complete reinstall of the basic GW3 files) again, short of that, can anyone offer any suggestions - just file names to remove would be great - as to a cure.
I play with scenery and can build to a point, but I'm beyond my expertise as to this one. Well, I'd probably know what to do if I knew what I did.
A system restore to two days ago failed! (And that's not supposed to happen!!!)
And, yes, the only thing worse than actuall being an idiot (which doesn't bother so very much) is demonstrating the fact in public as often as I do (I really hate that!!!).
Any help would be appreciated!!!
