I have been wanting to get this one for a long time, but haven't because of the huge file size. Since I hadn't been using the computer much the last few days due to a headache, I thought I'd download it. It took three sessions of about three hours each to get it all, talk about a long download. I've been wanting an amphibian Beaver, so that's the one I've been playing around with today. So far I have been very impressed with the plane. The only downside I can see is that many of the gauges are default Cessna gauges. Here are some shots from a flight I did today from Dutch Harbor in Alaska to Nikoloski bay. I enjoy doing the mail run in the Aleutian Islands. ( I should point out that I am using an altered paint scheme and have replaced the default avionics with a payware stack. Just so you know those don't come with the plane.) Early morning at Dutch Harbor. Some shots of the flight. Spotting Nikoloski Bay. Pulling up to the dock.

Nice!
Kind of on my to-get list, but I'm short of funds (and the Dreamfleet Baron is at the top).
I have their Super Cub (and love it!)
Question, can you remove the cowling and fly without it on (like Rosie in Never Cry Wolf?)

You can remove the cowling, but it shows the cowling lying on the ground next to the plane. I haven't tried doing it in the air yet, so I don't know if this was taken into account, or if you would see the cowling flying next to the plane. ;D I'll give it a try on my next flight.

Great plane and great shots, Kevin!! The Aerosoft Beaver was the first payware plane I bought - about a year and half ago. I have enjoyed it ever since, in fact your shots reminded me that I had it - so many planes nowadays, one tends to forget some of the great planes one has in their hanger!! Just flew it for a couple of hours around Annette Island again - up and down the water ways - great flight tonight! It was the first time I have flown it since I installed Active Camera and did notice that unless you use the "modern" panel "noted" planes, the modern panel (when you use the option to bring it up over the older panel) 'moves' with the camera - thought that was a little strange, so just flew the modern panel ones. I do like that red/orange paint scheme - is that available anywhere? Thanks for posting the shots - hope you continue to enjoy it as much as I have. Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

It is a great plane. I love bush flying and this plane is just as well suited to virtual bush pilots as the real one is to real bush pilots. ;D This paint scheme is really just the 'Alaska Air Travel' scheme under the 8 seater float version. I just modified it for the amphibian and changed the white stripe down the middle to black. Since this texture isn't really my own work, I hadn't planned to release it, but I am doing some paints for this plane.

Costs too much.

I dunno, when a lot of payware planes are reaching the $40 mark, 20 doesn't seem that bad for a package with this many models. I guess it's a matter of opinion. For me, I'm very happy with it, so the price doesn't seem that bad, but if it's not your thing, then it's understandable that the price is too high.

I don't say the price isn't reasonable, just that I can't afford it. Somebody who can, hey, go for it. I'm sure it's a fine product, judging from the pictures and descriptions I've seen. I certainly don't mean to dis the Aerosoft people.
(Although just as a matter of accuracy, the listed price is 20 EU, not dollars. Which at the current exchange rate is more like 25 - depending on whose rates you use - but your point is still a valid one; it's a lot more reasonable than 40. However, a new Honda is reasonably priced compared to a BMW, but I still can't afford to buy either of them.)
Not a matter of whether it's my thing; on the contrary, it's one of my favorite planes. That's just a lot of money. Might not be for you, but it is for me. Social Security pays the bills but it doesn't leave much for nonessentials. Especially with the escalating prices of necessities of life such as booze and ammunition.

Sorry for misunderstanding. Being hearing impaired and asthmatic, I'm not particularly well off myself. Payware add-ons are not something I can afford too often either. The actual price I payed was EUR17.20, I can't remember what the conversion fee was, but when I said $20, I just meant it as a round figure. (Seems I didn't have to pay that VAT thing, what ever it is.) On the other hand, there is some good freeware to look forward too. I'm really looking forward to Milton Shupe's Spartan.

Good old Value Added Tax Running at 17.5% presently. I don't smoke any more but when I did I was always aware that duty was paid on the tabacco and then VAT on the pack of cigarettes. I'd had to pay tax on the income I paid for the cigs too. £4.00 for a pack that before any tax represented about £0.50 worth of cigs. Glad I finally saw the light...now can someone talk me out of the booze...difficult task as I home brew wine, by the 25 litre vin ballon costing about 50 pence a litre ;D

I've wondered what that stood for. I've often seen it when ordering from Europe. I don't usually have to pay taxes for anything I order outside of the state of Arizona, though if it's a box product, I lose anything I save to shipping. That's one nice thing about download orders. If I order something in the state of AZ, taxes are pretty high too, though not quite that high. When you consider that a quid is worth nearly two USDs that's quite a bit of tax.

We've got sales tax in most parts of the US - state thing rather than national - which comes to much the same thing. But there's one big difference: in the UK, when you see the price on an item, that's what you're going to pay for it, VAT and all. Here, they post the price BEFORE tax, so you have to do the math in your head (or carry a calculator with you) to find out what the actual nut is going to be. Very dishonest practice, intended to sucker you into thinking you're getting things cheaper, but they almost all do it. I've only seen one American store - a liquor shop - that posted the full and true price.
And some of these states are trying to collect sales tax on mail and phone orders too. As you say, that's one nice thing about downloads.
Theoretically we who are not subjects of Her Majesty can get a refund on our VAT after we leave the UK, if we've kept the receipts and all that, but who wants to go through all that? Like I'm going to keep all my sales slips from Tesco and Sainsbury and Waitrose for a month? Not bloody likely.
Don't you love topic drift?

Grandchildren in London. Easier for us to go there than for my daughter to transport the little thugs over here.
