Here's another new forum. This one for solving hardware problems as they relate to Flightsim. Dave will be your host, but please help one another out if you have an answer. Roger & I will check in from time to time as well.
With so many hardware configurations, I think this will be a useful feature, so please post your setups with your questions.

Dave- May have been asked and answered already? Is it possible for one's plane to be hit by lightning in the sim? And if so what effects if any does it have?
Just curious..was flying through an enormous thunderstorm, using Active Sky 6, and wondered what is FS9 produces that effect.
Regards, Royce

Actually Royce, that's one I haven't seen before. Though it's something I try to avoid, I 'spose it's possible to be so close to lightning that it could appear to hit your ac. There shouldn't be any damage caused. For lightning (or any other visual effect) to do any damage, the sim would have to include an 'damage engine' similar to that in the Combat Flight Simulators. Hello All, New here and have been flying, FS like, for a long time. Busy with TS also but now have installed GW and like it very much. But now the old message comes up all the time about the cd not in the slot. I know there does not need to be one, like on my other FS9. But I forgot how to get rid of it. Have GW on its seperate installation. Thanks , Ted

To enter windowed mode for the FS window, press Alt enter. To open the gauge in windowed mode, go to View>Instrument panels, or something close to that. I haven't been able to tune the radio to my radio station in the first place, so I won't be of much help for that part... ;D

Hi Russ, welcome to TOH To set up the radiocd3 player in the Luscombe: In the VC, goto 'window mode' (alt+enter to toggle between windowed and full screen). Zoom in on the radio (pause the sim and push the throttle in to see the full radio in the Luscombe). Turn on the radio power, select the FM band. Right click on Preset 1. An Explorer browse window will open. Navigate to your saved audio files and select a file. click Open. (You can save your audio files anywhere on your hd. The radio will play .midi, .wav, .wma and .mp3 audio files.) Repeat for the other FM presets and also AM presets (total of 12 presets). Dave

Hi, could use some advice. On FS9.After start up, program leaves screen. Its still in the task bar to be recalled, and it does. With that,"DA Box" on screen pops up, called "autower 1.03" in the box it says "FSUIPC connection failed cannot link to FSUIPC or wide client" I click that OK,then another box ,it says "A configuration error occurred cannot continue" I click OK ,recall FS from task bar and no problem. Other that that no problem,I now just ignore it and fly away...yet I wonder why....If any thoughts it would be apprcieted....VIN

Vin, If you have a number of versions FSUIPC in your modules folder then you will have problems. The latest version is at all the major sites. Search for FSUIPC 3.71.zip then remove all the old ones including fsuipc.ini files. Hope that helps, Roger (without a D in the middle )

Hi Vin, My guess is the problem is with the 'Autower 1.03' addon. Though I havent installed Autower yet, it's readme points to your symptoms. FSUIPC downloads. Dave

Thanx Dave,Thanx Roger,(sorry bout the "D") To make a short story long,I uninstalled FS9.Saved much. There were some other factors involved.Reinstaled.Retained all my planes...all of them.Surprised that much was not lost. A host of addons went back.Went to settings and assigments...OK Checked to see if the bridge patch was in.The FS said no...yet the bridges are there. The reinstall indicated the patch was in.Like I say in Fs it still reads 9.0,instead of 9.1 ??my Sim is OK,better than ever...So ,thanx again VIN

Vin,
The 9.1 upgrade resolves other issues, besides the missing bridges. They include: *Autogen memory leak-can cause the sim to slow down (more than normal) over city areas. *Seasonal CTD near/at some airports. *Added 19m mesh support (TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21)
Although you still see the bridges (the result of not running the 'FS9UpdateUninstall.exe' before the normal uninstall) the other fixes are probably not there. With the upgrade fully installed, Help>About... should show Ver. 9.1-Build 40901.01.
Dave
