Hi All, With Tom announcing his retirement from scenery making it seems like a good time for me to do the same thing, at least for a few months. There are a number of home repair projects hanging over my head and some other real world concerns that need to be dealt with. Accordingly, switching hats from builder to hard hat , I am shelving the China Clipper project till such time as I can do justice to it. I will be around the forum from time to time and will keep tabs on all the neat scenery and planes that you guys are coming with Thanks to all for your support and good flying!

Bill & Lynn,
Sorry to hear the news, but wish you the very best in all you do! Thanks again for all the amazing work you've done with FSGW3 (and Custom Classics). Enjoy a well-earned and long overdue break - we will look forward to your return from "semi retirement" whenever you are ready!
Take care,
Wayne

Well sad for us who thrive on your hard work but very understandable. Time comes when the batteries need a recharge and perhaps a new direction in life.
Thanks for all the wonderful work; you have lifted this hobby of ours by several notches above 100%.

Well I too wish you all the best Bill and Tom, But this is from someone who is older than you! I did the semi thing awhile back, but there is something that keeps drawing me into it again??? I do believe in this case it was GW3, seeing it was Bill Lyon's that got me started on doing scenery , with the release of his Waco, he is now leaving me with a whole new world in which to work. I thank you for both instances Bill. As for Tom leaving the scenery, he knows that he is only going as far as the tether will allow, he has been involved forever, as the saying go's. He has always been there when I or anyone needed him for advise in our virtual world, I thank him for this too. So in summing up the Semi- retirement situation, Good Luck! See you soon....WillyB

We aren't going anywhere, just working less And you are right about the tether. I've quit a dozen times since my first scenery for FS4

I am kind of in a reverse situation, I am counting the days (about 1000 days to go) until I can retire from my real job so that I can spend more time on fight simming activities. I'm trying to learn to create scenery with GMAX but having to work a real job 8 to 10 hours a days doesn't allow a lot of time to get to deep into it. Anyway have a good rest Bill you deserve it.

Well hell, everyone's retiring, semi-retiring, working less - - shoot, at 58 I'm to young to retire and to old to keep up with it all. So, in a sense I understand Bill and Tom - just sorry to hear it!
Now the Redhead is all mad and upset about the China Clipper - had to tell her we wouldn't be going to the Pacific anytime soon. I suggested another plane and I thought the whole world was coming to an end - she say's there's no other planes out there with 'music' - she's right! But, if she keeps up with this rat'en and rav'en, I'm going to buy her a six month ticket on a Boat ride with a radio!
Anyway, hope you get your home repairs done - I know how that is - seems I fix one thing and two more things come up out of nowhere - never ends. And real world concerns - oh, how I wish we could just 'tinker' our way out of those like we do in Flight Sim - -
Wishing you both a good time away or semi-away and looking forward to your return - -
Dan
Thanks for all you both do to further the enjoyment we all get from your great contributions!!
…it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Bill and Lynn,
I wish you both the best in what ever endeavors you find yourselves taking on.
I have not been a forum user here however I have read the forums for a while, and have enjoyed custom classics ever since I bought my first one many moons ago. What you bring to the sim, is magic. The attention to details, things that make your add-ons a joy to fly, really its like magic in the sim world.
I, like many others will miss your creations, but will cherish the ones I get to enjoy now. Seeing a new one, released was kind of like finding that present under the tree that you begged Santa for as a child.
Thank you for all your hard work, and I do certainly hope when time is on your side and those dreaded home improvement tasks are behind you, you can again, create that simming magic.
Thank you and with kindest regards,
Stephen A. Vasali

Stephen's said it so well. Bill and Tom, I think we'll all miss your active participation. Youve done so much for the community of a long time. We'll miss your active contribution, but at the same time no one could begrudge you some space for yourselves - you've always been so generous. But I know I'll miss your involvement. The Lyons packages maintained a great balance of convincing reality with a great sense of fun, and displayed outstanding technical talent. Tom, Bill and Lynn have contributed a lot to my enjoyment. Hope you now get to enjoy other activities as well (insofar as home repair may be pleasurable... ;D )

Time comes when the batteries need a recharge and perhaps a new direction in life. This is most definitely true - It's amazing what you discover when you step outside for a while

Lynn, Bill & Tom,
Where to begin....(smile)..... Many best wishes to you all in everything and anything you choose to do!!!! You have given SO much to this wonderful hobbie...... but mostly you have given so much of yourself that I could never begin to place into words my admiration and joy you've given me over the years!! You always have been and always will be the measuring stick I choose to measure all others against!! So..... even though I understand you'll still be around...... let me wish you, "Fair Winds & Following Seas" (as we use to say in the Navy & Marines)
Many Best wishes.......... And a Hearty "Thank You!!!!!"
