I'm ready to throw in the towel. For several days I have been trying to simply remove all the buildings at Clanton, Alabama, and replace them with one of Bill's macros. I can place the hanger where I want it using Leung's FSSC but, I've had no luck getting rid of the present one. After downloading several programs, reading posts, etc., I think maybe now. But I get this screen when I try to start exbuilder. Would any of you more knowledable scenery designers be interested in simply making that change at Cragg-Wade airport in Clanton, Alabama. Thanks... Randy

Well your problem with the program is that you are missing a dynamic link library (DLL) called MSSTDFMT.DLL. Now that one does not ring any bells with me.
The program comes without an install so it is expecting this library to be there.
I have checked my windows/system32 directory and I have it - and exeBuilder works fine on my machine. It looks like a standard microsoft dll. mine is dated Feb 2004. If it is there then we have a different problem. If it is not then you need to get hold of it. Look in your windows/system32 folder and see if it is there.
I am pretty sure Microsoft would not allow us to post this file. You may be able to find it on your distribution disks for XP (you are running XP?) alternatively PM me and we will sort something out. Then exeBuilder should work for you.

Thanks scruffyduck. Yes, I'm running XP. I'll check my system files. If it's not there, I'll try to get my next door neighbor to add it to my files. He teaches computers at a local tech school.
BTW, I downloaded your Lost Horn scenery. Great job!

My copy of the file is even older (1998). If you search for the file name on google you'll find sites that offer it for download.

AS he pounds on his desk....aaaaarrrrrrgggggahhhhh.
I now have the .dll but have no idea where it should be placed. I have already tried windows/system as well as windows/system32. I still get the error message.
All this grief for a stupid hanger.....

This is pure guesswork Randy but you could try it in the main FSW folder. If not then I'm sure someone can tell you where in XP their's is.

I run XP and it's in windows/system32. Did you try rebooting your computer?

That's correct - it needs to be registered with windows so that it will be seen by the program. There is software about that allows manual register of dlls I use a commercial product to manage this kind of thing so I am not sure what you would use but I will see what I can find. In the meantime a Google search as suggested may solve the problem OK here is a free program which can do it www.e-systems.ro/register_dll_tool.htmYou need to get an activation code when you install it but it is very easy and then you should be able to register the dll - make sure it is in windows/system32 before you register it

Page Two....
OK fellows, I've finally got it loaded and working. Now would somebody please write a tutorial for dummies on how to use it. The enclosed read-me didn't help much. I expect there are others on the board who would appreciate your doing this....

Randy, Get a lot of scrap paper and boot up GW. Go to slew mode and hit the trigger button. This will orient the plane with the nose to the north. Slew to the offending object. Now imagine a square box around the object. Move the plane to the bottom right corner of the box and jot down those coordinates. Move the plane to the upper left hand corner of the box and jot down the coordinates. Open exclude builder and fill in the coordinates as you wrote them down. Now check the generic buildings and library objects boxes. Don't check "remove all" unless you want the autogen removed also. Now "Generate Source Code" and then "Save source code and generate bgl" Brouse to the FSGW3/ Addon Scenery/scenery folder and assign a unique name to the file and save. When you boot up the object(s) should be gone. You can do an entire city this way and only autogen buildings will be left. If there are special landmark buildings which existed in that time you can uncheck the "library objects" and they will stay. Hope that helps, Bill
