Ok Bruce, I'm sold...MSTS is going back onto the HD. ;D I've never even heard of 'MTS Bin' but just took a peek at their website. It looks great! Which version of 'MTS Bin' are you using, Bruce...Stable Release 1.7.051922 or Work Release 1.7.102222?

Ordered it - should be here by the end of the week! ;D Now, I've got to start cleaning up the HD to make room for it - needed a good cleaning anyway. I'm assuming it will run (the Atari version - 2004) on XP without any problems. Read a couple of forums and didn't find any posts where XP was a problem. Your right Bruce (LOL) and I can't wait to go back to the Toy store! I'll install MSTS and make sure it's stable before I get anything and then 3DTrains will my first stop - lots of great toys there! Looking forward to it! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Really nice Bruce.... I guess I'm going to be forced to dig out my old MSTS stuff. .... Dig it out, load it up, grab MTS Bin and add it and then get Feather River. I guarantee you'll love it. Okay Bruce.... I got it up and it's loading as we speak. (smile) However, I must have missed something somewhere as I can't seem to find MTS Bin. Did a file search at Train-Sim.com... no joy. Can someone point me into the right direction. Cheers,

No worries Bruce... .Many Thanks!! I installed my MSTS and off to update with the MS Update... then I'll put in the MSTS Bin and take a look. As I remember, it wasn't too bad just a few bugs here and there. Hmmm.... sounds like FSX, huh? (smile)
Cheers,

....As I remember, it wasn't too bad just a few bugs here and there. Hmmm.... sounds like FSX, huh? (smile). MSTS Bin has taken care of the majority of the bugs that hampered the original......particularly those irritations that plagued Activity and Route creators......and has added enhancements such as night-lighting for cabs and the ability to move control from one loco to another. In addition, it has made the sim far more stable, reducing random CTD's and freezes that used to pop up for the strangest reasons - generally unknown! Cheers! Bruce

Bruce... Thank You again for as always.... getting me pointed in the correct direction. (smile)
I purchased the Santa Fe Super Chief from 3DTrains as that is the train I most remember as a kid. Well.... maybe not the Super Chief itself, however, I do remember my grade school class riding from Great Bend, Kansas to Dodge City, Kansas back in the 60's by train that looked like the Super Chief; i.e., same type engines etc. Of course as a kid that was a big deal.
My parents have come by train from Kansas to California that past few times they visited and seem to enjoy the journey. I'm assuming that could perhaps be what was once called the Super Chief.... I'm unsure.
Anyway... I'm off to order my Western Pacific disk so I should have more than enough train stuff to keep me busy for a while.
Cheers,

Steve, This could be the train the your parents have ridden.......... Ahh Bruce... that is it. Why I couldn't remember the Southwest Chief. They get on the train at Hutchinson, KS. and get off at San Bernardino Station pictured below. BEAUTIFUL old station that is very much in need of repair. Last time I was there you couldn't even go inside anymore, however, there is a group that is raising money to restore her to her original beauty!! I just love these old stations! Cheers,

It's your (USA's) stations that are one reason I am attracted to American railroading. Each road tried to outdo the other and some fabulous pieces of architecture - in many styles - appeared. That is a super example of what I mean! Bruce

Yes I know..... I've always been attracted to great architecture no matter where it is at. I do love the old train stations..... everything from the depots to the big terminal buildings.
My next door neighbor use to work for Santa Fe at the San Bernardino station you see above. Of course that was back in the steam days but he has some wonderful stories to tell.
Cheers,

I love old train stations, too. A few years ago I went back to my childhood stomping grounds (Kansas City, Missouri) and visited an old friend...Union Station. www.unionstation.org/intro.cfm. It sure brought back memories being in the station again. The station is now beautifully restored. Here's a few interior pics I took. Brian The main waiting room. In my mind I can still see the big, heavy, wooden benches which used to sit to the left in the picture. That structure on the right used to be the ticket counter. This is the hallway which used to lead down to the trains. The doorways on the right lead down stairs to the tracks. A closeup of one of the huge chandeliers.
