Nice pictures of Union Station Brian. They bring back old memories of when I was a kid and every summer we took the train to Kansas City from Oklahoma to see the Athletics play ball in the old ball park. It looks better now (the station) than it did then.

Brian....... I have been to that station I think. Does the buses run from there also; i.e., Greyhound etc.?
When I enlisted in the Marines I was on a 6 month delayed entry program and had to come to KC for physical and to be sworn in. Left KC in one heck of a snow storm by bus...... but I'd swear that was the station!
Great pictures indeed......lovely building!

Lifejogger - Yep, Union Station was pretty dark and dank back in those days, wasn't it?. ;D SgtMajor - Not 100% sure about the bus station, but I think you're correct. Bruce - I too am glad they saved Union Station. It would have been criminal to destroy the old station. It's estimated that half of all US troops passed through Union Station during WWII. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the pics! Brian

Ordered it - should be here by the end of the week! ;D Dan Well, it didn't get here. Shoot, guess I'll just have to go fly something . . . and look at everyone's great pictures and dream of bellowing smokestacks, hissing steam, and shiny rails . . . Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Dan... I hear you. I leave in a couple of days for a business trip and won't be back until a week from today. Then two days later I'm off again for a short trip (3 days) so I too will be itching to get my hands on the throttle. Thank goodness for Bruce and Kevin to keep me entertained with their great pictures. (smile)

Okay..... probably not the most respectable time ever done..... but I did complete my first "Feather River" run. I probably spent 15 - 20 minutes trying to figure where to stop at once I arrived at the station. (smile) Pulled all the way to the light and sat there wondering what to do before I realized I had gone too far. Anyway.... I'm very pleased with the new addition. It was worth every penny! Cheers,

Bruce... A wonderful route. And here to think I gave up on MSTS a long time ago. Thanks to your advice a new life has been restored in what I thought was a waste of money.
I guess good things do come to those who wait. (smile)
I'm sure anxious to try the other routes and just go exploring. Too bad I'm pretty busy these next 3 weeks. Guess that gives me all the more time to plan.
Cheers,

Well, MSTS finally got here! So, I'm anxious to load it up and put the coal to the fire - so to speak. ;D Cleared out over a 1 Gb of space on the main HD - not just for the program, but for the add-ons I plan to load in - Feather River itself is over 1 Gb. Which, if I was thinking with any sanity at all, I would get rid of the 40Gb main drive and use the 80Gb slave drive as the main drive - but that's a weekends worth of work to reformat it, load everything back in, and start out fresh - shoot. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and do that . . . I'm beginning to see where this sim could grow as large as flight sim! Out of curiosity - what size am I looking at - with the add-ons I've seen here? Seems everyone has a lot of different types - trains, scenery, routes, etc. I've enjoyed seeing everyone's screenshots and there's more that keep showing up - great great stuff!! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Hi Dan.... I'm out on a business trip right now but will be home tomorrow morning.....EARLY... so I can get some train/flight time in before leaving again Monday evening.
I actually installed MSTS on my second hard drive (D:) and it seems to run quite nicely there. I have a 150 Raptor for my main drive, however, FS9 and FSX and Windows pretty much fill that puppy up with all the addon stuff. My secondary drive is a 350g. that I intended to use for storage but looks like it will turn into my train drive.
If someone else doesn't answer first.... I'll post what size footprint MSTS is using.
Cheers,

Dan, On my laptop, on which I only have six routes (4 x Maple leaf Tracks, 1 x Feather River, 1 x Milwaukee RMD4) - and no default routes - it takes up 4.1 Gb.
On my desktop, which has 29[/i] routes, it absorbs 13.7 Gb.
Regards, Bruce
