Just a thought that comes from living in an area that has lots of lakes that freeze during the winter - how about something that can be converted to wheels, floats, and skis for those long winter months

8-)I indeed agree with blueeagle44; I just downloaded the Apache...Learned from previous mistakes and "Voila" ;D What a nice plane...Just on the flights included on the package mostly the engines are off. When I start them I only have control of one engine, generally the left And this happens to me often on Fs9. I went thru. the chek list and still no control over the right engine...the propeller is turning but no throttle control. It even happens to me in jets. Only thing to do is to load a default and restart flight over again

Hi Berlopez - I have same problem (with non default aircraft) with only one engine actually pulling a load. I just change aircraft to a default one such as the Baron and make sure both engines are running. Then change aircraft back to the one you want to fly. If you start up FS9 with a default aircraft, you may not have any problems for the rest of that FS9 session.
Add my thanks to Lynn and Bill and the gang. Also, thanks to Tom for hosting this usefull site.

;DThanks for your reply cannondale, It's good to know I'm not alone Yes I do the same load a default fs9 aircraft and all is well. This seems to happen to a lot of add-onns like the queen connie FSDZ and the DC-6 from calclassics. ;D

It happens here intermittantly as well. Usually with the Goose. I just reload the aircraft and that usually fixes it.

Yah Tom, I agree, a really nice bird for personal flying, I use it a lot. But I was looking for something with a little more power and load carrying capacity for "hauling those Boston hunting and fishing dudes" into remote areas. Adding skis to the Stinson would work, as would a really Bill Lyons "Class" Noorduyn Norseman.

I think Bill would have done it eventually, so in keeping with his dream, we will. It has a great history, including being the first aircraft purchased to specifically fly the President of the United States, at the time FDR. Although he never actually used the plane, Elenore did. Additionally the last existing airframe is at the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola Fla. It flew for the Wilmington -Catalina Airlines, was William Boeing's private ship that he named Rover, then sold to the USCG in 1940, suffered a crash in 1950 and was purchased by 'Coke" Darden of South Carolina USA. He flew it until 1998 when it was discovered that there was extensive wing spar corrosion and he donated it to NAM Pensacola.
We will also be breaking new ground by adding a Golden Age Airport, Catalina Airport circa 1932 in Hamilton Cove, Avalon, Catalina Island, CA USA. It will bring back that Golden Age 'port before the modern strip, build in 1941, was placed in land on the island. (see picture above)

I think that would be a fantastic addition to the GAS story line. I'm hoping it will be for FS2004 also

That's the plan. Unlike previous models we're going to build it primarily for FSX and then modify it for FS9. You see, FS9 has limits on file size where as FSX does not. We prefer to model the details rather than rely on textures to provide details. I expect that both versions will be available.

Understandable with the amount of detail FSX allows. Comparing the two sims, if I could, I would have built an FSX machine many months ago. That's the lure for me..and I'm sure others. I'm just thinking of simmers like me that can't currently build that type of hardware monster and are stuck in the times of FS2004. I particularly enjoy FS2004 due to the availability of scenery, aircraft and add-ons. I look forward to seeing this new arrival Thank You Spad By the way, I currently have all the GoldenAge freeware aircraft installed in GW3. I like it !!
