Thanks, Bruce!! An adventure it already is! Wow - did I ever get in trouble on that last leg into Nice - as noted below . . . At 5300' and this is not looking good - ah, but there is an opening to the left Now this is much better Beautiful country down there - oh oh - this is bad Had to take a right & climb to 8500' - had to land up a hill - had to take off down a hill - scary scary blood, sweat, & more sweat - that's when 55-60 kts is nice - phew!!. Too much looking around. Had to then climb to 10,000' to get out of there. Nice is off in the distance. Nice is nice ;D . . . off to get a cold one! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Athens - finally! It's been over a month since I left Nice and flew into Sicily. Had a lot of repairs in Sicily - well, that's the excuse anyway. You know, standard stuff - compass didn't work right, seat adjustment needed replacement, broken radio knobs, engine tuning, etc. and the parts had to be shipped in from the US - by boat, of course. Actually, I fell in love with Sicily for 40 odd days - or was it that dark eyed 20 something Brunette I met at a Sicilian Restaurant near Recanti beach - can't remember! So, here I am and it's been 30 some years (in real life) since I've been here. Spent 4 months TDY while in the Air Force back in the 70's. A lot has changed and a lot hasn't changed - the Parthenon still looks the same, the Ouzo and Gyros taste the same, but they built a new airport - yes, I landed at the old one and couldn't figure out why I still had some distance to go. Oh, the memories . . . Oh, the fun . . . Oh, the night life - I mean lights . . . Now, it's on to Alexandria. ;D Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

LOL!! ;D Your reports are a joy to read, Dan. You would have done very well back in the days of the travelogue. I think you might find Alexandria a little quieter than Athens. Bruce

Thanks, Bruce! I’m enjoying this flight! ;D Lots of places to see - some I’ve been to – many I haven’t. The 150 gives one plenty of time to look around. I’m looking forward to Alexandria – a little quiet time would be nice – oops, already been there. Here’s a couple more shots. Left Athens early in the morning – thought I get out of that great city, before I’d decide to stay . . . Absolutely beautiful day for flying Seems like open ocean for awhile . . . time for a good nap! Travelogue – for some reason, that just brought to mind the infamous Route 66 across the US – would make an interesting flight sometime. Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

.....Travelogue – for some reason, that just brought to mind the infamous Route 66 across the US – would make an interesting flight sometime..... It would, for sure. I think that most people my age who had access to 1960's TV would be familiar with the television show, if not the actual route itself. Bruce

LOL!! ;D ;D Your registration prefix 'OH', is certainly appropriate! ;D
I think you'd better cool off in the shade of a palm tree with a pink gin and await the next IA flight to Cairo and Khartoum, Dan.
Cheers! Bruce

Bruce, your right 'OH' certainly is appropriate! I didn't see that until you mentioned it. LOL I also didn't think about the Gin - shoot, can't find it - must've drank it all in Sicily . . . Royce It’s FS9 – with BEV textures, FSGenesis, a little Flight Environment (FE), a little Real Environment Professional (REPro), a little salt & pepper, a drop of Tabasco sauce for good measure, and bits & pieces from who knows where, plus four years of twitches & tweaks, that at times, have driven me absolutely mad with passion (nice way of saying ‘crazy’). For the record: System: Gateway P4, 1.8 GHz, 1GB RAM Media: 40GB HD, 80GB Slave, 250GB WD Book Drive Graphics Card: PNY Geforce FX 5500 PCI 128MB Drivers: NVIDIA 93.71 Sound: Audigy SE Monitor: Sony Paint-By-Number FPS: -22 to +22 (avg 12-18 depending upon CPMD - CPU Mood-of-the-Day) Flight Simulators: FS9 & GW3 It is what it is and most planes fly just fine with little or no stutters based on the modifications performed over time. I've tried to create what I see outside in the real world and have added what helps display that naturally. Not every addon package, as you know, provides it all to everyone's individual taste, so that's why the bits & pieces from everywhere. A pain sometimes, given the limitations of computers, graphics, and money, but enjoyable and challenging to pursue. Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Looks like you have FS9 tweaked about as close to perfection as it can get, Dan. Very nice!
Great shots, too. Just watch those G-limits on the 150. ;D

Hey Dan. I have to agree with clipper. Looking at your computer specs and then at your screenshots you have done a fantastic job in tweaking fs9. Your picts look almost as good as some if Keith's and he runs a high end PC.

Dan- I have FSGenesis installed for every continent. But I have always been reluctant to d/l anything over the Golden Wings 3 and or Silver Wings installs. I don't want to lose any of the GW or SW effects..is there any landclass or scenery or environment d/l's that would enhance the sim without losing GW or SW effects??
Regards, Royce

Thanks, Wayne! I didn’t even think about the G-forces! No wonder that port side wing is ‘vibrating’ more now. Lifejogger, thanks! It’s an ongoing process, as you know - give/take/mix/match, but that’s the fun and frustrating part of it all. ;D Royce, I’ve actually left GW3 as it was originally released, except for adding Fs Sky World’s alternative 'DXT' clouds for better performance on my system and FSGenesis mesh. It always seems almost a sacrilege every time I even think about changing something in it – get headaches, can’t breathe, almost breakout in hives! Bill did such a great creative job representing that time and place, that I leave it alone and enjoy it as it is, even though I may add that new grass Roger is smoking in his last screenshoot of his post today – looks nice! I know Tom and Windrunner have mentioned here somewhere about texture add-ons in GW3 - here's a couple of comments - there may be more . . . mainescenery.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=gold&action=display&thread=1181380758mainescenery.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=gold&action=display&thread=1175209522Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D
